Not only is Charlecott Lodge a gracious bed and breakfast but it also acts as the backdrop to a fascinating collection of art.
Charlecott's art comes from a variety of sources and in many forms. Some is from local artists, some from art dealers but much is produced in house by the hostess, Susan Eckles.
All the clay sculptures featured on the website are made by Susan, her watercolours can be found around the house as can wood carvings spanning forty years, she has even carved and constructed the dining room chairs herself.
In addition to displaying her own work and that of her pupils, Susan also showcases local artists. Some of the items in the sculpture garden (currently in its infancy) is local work as are various pieces in the house itself.
